The Power of GPS

Harnessing the power of RM Tracking’s GPS system, John Bartley could track the movements and position of his elderly, ailing father-in-law.

RM Tracking’s GPS system, used in various fields, has proven invaluable in keeping John Bartley’s elderly father-in-law safe and secure.

We are always thrilled to hear about the many creative ways in which our GPS devices have been used, says Brad Borst of RM Tracking. The Bartley case is a classic example of leveraging the power and reach of our GPS systems to an unorthodox but priceless degree.

Bartley received a call from the Indiana Highway Patrol, saying that his father-in-law, Roger, had been found, in a confused and lost state, asking for directions.

Even though he had demonstrated the early stages of either Alzheimer’s or some form of senior dementia, he had always been OK on short drives to the nursing home, to visit his wife, or to the grocery and barber shop places he was familiar with, says Bartley. But this time, on the way home there had been a detour, and he had gotten confused when he got directed onto the interstate.

When this happened, Bartley began to look for ways to monitor Roger’s whereabouts. We discovered the RMTracking site on the Internet, liked the price, features and the fact that there was no monthly charge that you only paid for the times you actually needed to ‘ping’ the unit, he says. Bartley purchased CyntrX and installed it, and he found he could find out Roger’s position, speed and direction every time, without fail.

It was an innovative use of the Global Positioning System of RMTracking’s devices. With it, Bartley says, he achieved a peace of mind and a sense of security that would have been hard to obtain otherwise. There were no fears that Roger was lost, or that he had been in an accident, or any number of other contingencies.

I’d definitely recommend RMTracking’s GPS Systems to others, for these purposes and others, says Bartley. If something had happened and we had not know where Roger was, we would have found the GPS invaluable.
