GPS Tracking Systems Cut Insurance Payments

More and more companies are switching their programs over to GPS tracking systems. As businesses that have switched are quickly finding out, the systems help companies run more efficiently, keep better records, monitor the travels of their employees, and even save them money.

These are only a few of the many benefits of these systems, but one little known benefit of switching your company over to GPS tracking systems is the insurance break that you may receive. Depending on your insurance company, you could cut up to 30% of your current insurance payment just for switching to new GPS technology.

One reason that insurance companies reward businesses for using GPS technology is that it encourages good driving. Employees will watch their speed more carefully, as well as cut down on other bad driving habits. It is estimated that around 30% of accidents are partially caused by speeding. If employees know that someone is keeping tabs on their driving, they will be much more careful. Safer, more cautious drivers are good for insurance companies because they cause fewer accidents and cost insurance companies less money.

A second reason that may not be as obvious is that these GPS tracking systems would also prevent theft. Insurance companies do not enjoy shelling out thousands of dollars for companies to replace their vehicles when they are stolen. Using these tracking systems, companies will be able to instantly locate their vehicles if they are missing. The company will instantly know if the vehicle was misplaced, misused by an employee, or truly stolen. Businesses as well as insurance companies will save hours upon hours of work with these systems.

In addition to the insurance cut, these systems save money in other areas. Because of their accuracy, they cut down on fuel consumption. They also track your employee’s travel time perfectly, which keeps you from paying your delivery workers or other dispatched employees for time that they were not actually working.

Although it may seem to have a hefty up-front cost, GPS tracking systems are well worth the initial set up cost for any business. They will save you hundreds or thousands of dollars every month, paying for themselves dozens of times over. No matter what the needs of your particular company are, you will still find aspects of these systems that work wonders for your business and save you money. Clearly, these tracking systems are one of the most important business tools of the 21st century.
