GPS Tracking Systems Help You Expand Your Business

by James Neely - freelance writer

A growing business is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, you like to experience the increase in profits and sales volume. On the other hand, the added stress and load that it places on your operations can make it difficult to justify sometimes.

That is why the implementation of business systems into your operations is mandatory in helping you manage growth by encouraging efficiency. This is exactly where a GPS Tracking system comes into play for you.

By adding a GPS Tracking system into your business, you can better manage assets. If they are mobile or movable, then they need a GPS Tracking device attached which can give you instant location, direction and speed information from a central computer.

Efficiency. You can avoid having to use expensive employee man-hours to locate assets by using a GPS Tracking device. This is essential for businesses who work out-of-doors. Those in the construction industry understand the value of these systems.

Keeping expenses low. Savings that come from the best uses of assets are “soft” savings. These are not necessarily ones that you can put down on a balance sheet, but they come from knowing that the tracking of assets makes your employees more responsible and better managers. All of a sudden it becomes more important to handle assets with care. Maintenance schedules increase in value. Your assets last longer because of this type of a mindset.

Fuel costs are lowered. If you use GPS Tracking systems in a fleet of vehicles, then you will discover a lowering of fuel costs. Maintaining tighter control means that you know where each and every vehicle is located. No more worries about unnecessary driving to locations outside of a pre-determined area.
Insurance premiums are decreased. Your insurance premiums are likely to go down if you use GPS Tracking systems on your assets. These devices reduce the risk that insurance companies shoulder, so they are likely open to giving back to you in the form of lower premiums. This type of savings goes right to profits.

Control is increased. Knowledge is everything when it comes to controlling assets. Your responsible employees a can report on the location and use of company vehicles and implements. If the activities fall out of standards, then consequences can be imposed.

Value added to your operations. There is no better partner in business than GPS Tracking systems and the control that they afford to you. Make them a part of your operations and watch as your business soars.

GPS Tracking Systems Hit College Campuses

By Greg Bartlett

GPS tracking systems are quickly becoming a part of everyday life for many business people, but in the next two years they will also be sprouting up on college campuses around the country. Many schools are considering the adoption of a cell phone with GPS technology that will help students stay safe in an emergency. Students may soon be carrying two cell phones, the one that is on their parents’ plan which allows them to text and call their friends among other things, and the one that the school requires them to have and carry, which will give them a minimal amount of peak minutes, unlimited text messaging, unlimited access to campus-based information, and of course the emergency tracking.

Student Safety

Student Safety

Students may resent this new safety measure for a few reasons. First of all, jeans only have so many pockets, and when you’re carrying a wallet, keys, and two cell phones, they will most likely all be full. Second, who needs two cell phones? There are probably a few talented college students who could text on both phones at the same time, but most students will not use the emergency phone, preferring instead to use the phone that they had previously owned. Third, this emergency cell phone plan comes with a fee of around $400 a year. College already has enough additional charges: laundry, textbooks, snacks from the vending machines. Most college students don’t have this kind of money sitting around.

But despite all the negatives, this program is a very important one. GPS tracking systems help keep people safe, and safety is more important than convenience. These GPS tracking systems would allow for a variety of safety measures. The college administration would be able to locate the students closest to an emergency situation and direct them by text message or phone call how to respond.

Students that are farther away could be directed to a safe building that was close to them. This kind of personalized notification would help students respond calmly in a situation instead of trying to decide where to go or which part of the notification to respond to. These GPS tracking systems would also allow students to set a tracking alarm on their phone that would notify authorities in a specific amount of time if they did not turn off the alarm. This would help students to feel safer in any uneasy situation.

Although students might prefer that college campuses didn’t make this emergency cell phone a requirement, if the students and their parents really considered the safety that this device brings, they would come to the conclusion that $400 was well worth the peace of mind that it would give them.

GPS Tracking Systems Keep Businesses in Touch

By Greg Bartlett

Business owners have a lot on their plates. They have many meetings of their own to attend and they also have to supervise everybody else’s work and check in with those under them to make sure all the areas of their company are running smoothly. New GPS technology can make their lives simpler for less than the cost of hiring another secretary.

These GPS tracking systems allow the business owners to have quick access to any information that they might need. By tracking routes and mileage on a computer instead of in paper files, this information can be easily searched to find a specific item. This also allows them to plan routes with the computer instead of paper maps, making it quicker, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly.

Business owners will also be able to monitor their employees better with GPS tracking systems. They will know that their employees are hard at work and not have to check in on them. By letting employees work hard uninterrupted, they will be more productive throughout the day and make the company more profits. This will also let employers know who the best workers are and which workers need a little more encouragement or motivation.

Vehicle wear and tear can also be tracked using GPS tracking systems. Since the mileage is carefully and accurately recorded with these systems, it will be easy to know when vehicles need to be taken in for maintenance. This will prevent costly repairs to vehicles that are cased because vehicles haven’t been maintained. Accidents could even be avoided by making sure that tires are inflated and brake pads are not worn among other things. However, this also saves business owners money because the vehicles will not be over-maintained.

Instead of sending all of the vehicles in at the same time to be serviced whether or not they really need it, vehicles can be maintained according to need and all the information for that can be kept on the computer. Vehicle wear and tear will also be reduced using these systems, because employees will not take unneeded breaks or personal stops, which will cut down on the use of the vehicles.
Business owners are incredibly busy people who work long hours.

GPS tracking systems can help business owners run their companies better, which will relieve them of some of their stress and free up more time for them to spend at home. These systems allow the owners to track where their employees are and make it easier for them to schedule routes and keep vehicle wear and tear to a minimum.
