You’re all set to get your first car. This particular one is the model you want, and you even like the color, too. You’re fairly sure it has most of the options you had hoped for, but it’s a little hard to tell before you test drive the car.
Unfortunately, someone else wants this vehicle for his first car, too. Only he’s not planning on paying for it like you are. He wants to steal it from you. No, that’s not nice. But, regrettably, it does happen.

So how can you make sure that your first car doesn’t become someone else’s first car – someone who doesn’t pay you for it? GPS vehicle tracking may do the trick.
It might just seem like another option at first – a cool way to find out where your car’s been, so that you can know who’s been driving it where, how fast it was going, and what stops were made. But many GPS vehicle tracking systems also have a much more practical aspect. They’ll help you find your car if it’s stolen, and they may even prevent a thief from getting very far after stealing it.
For instance, some police departments are taking bait cars, in which they install a GPS tracking device, and placing them in high-risk areas. If the car is stolen, police will know instantly and can monitor the vehicle’s location. Even more importantly, they can use the GPS device to cut off the ignition and often lock the doors as well, trapping the thief inside. In Houston alone, police have made 21 arrests this year because of bait cars.
These types of GPS vehicle tracking devices aren’t limited to police bait cars. Anyone interested in ensuring the location of a vehicle can find a GPS system which will track a car and also allows for other options, such as ignition cut off.
Your first car doesn’t need to be someone else’s first car, nor does it need to find its way to a chop shop.
With a GPS vehicle tracking system, you can monitor your car at all times, and if it is stolen, you can locate it almost instantly, and if you have ignition cut off, you might even stop it from being stolen. Protect your first – or your second, third, ninth, or twentieth – car with GPS. It’s worth the reasonable cost of the device and service to ensure that your vehicle remains your vehicle, and not someone else’s.
