You see around you two different types of businesses.  Those that are run in a shoddy manner, and barely get by (and ultimately close) and those that operate like clockwork and survive in any economic climate.  Why is that?  Is there one thing that can be done to help make sure that your business runs like the latter, not the former?

If your customers go somewhere else, then your business will die.  This is why you must never forget why you are in business:  to serve your customers.  Making sure that you meet and exceed customer expectations will create trust and loyalty in the minds of your clients.

Keep Your Confidence High

No one knows your business like you do.  Use that knowledge to remain confident and assured about what you do.  This means that you know when to make changes and know when to stick with what brought you to where you are to begin with.

Keep Your Goals in Mind

Write out your goals, and read them regularly.  Make them simple and easy to attain.  Emulate those who are successful with goals.  One such person has only three:  What he wants to accomplish that day, in that year, and in life.

Keep Imagining Success

It is healthy to imagine yourself as successful.  See yourself in the position of being completely surrounded by success.  Then, begin to act like you are there now.  It makes a difference in how you approach life and your business, too.  Successful thinking will bring success.

Keep Efforts Concentrated

It is difficult to be 100% everyday, but the effort must be there.  Take care of the little things that are really not so little.  Keep in mind that your business is being discussed when you are not listening.  You should make sure that those discussions are good.

Keep Going

The one element in all of this that helps is to never give up on your dream.  Do not let it die from a lack of attention.  Learn how to overcome obstacles one at a time that threaten to kill your dream.
