According to Business Daily Africa, Kenya, South Africa, is seeing a recent GPS tracking trend lately. More and more Kenyan business owners have begun to track trucks in order to increase productivity, and to find out where company money is going.
GPS trackers prove to be extremely useful all over the world – even as far as South Africa. Some Kenyan business owners also enjoy the fact that trucks can be placed inside of a virtual fence. This type of fencing knowing as “geo-fencing” helps to ensure that good are not hijacked and that truck drivers are not taking up company time with personal endeavours.
Since insuring certain truckloads of goods in Kenya can be risky, many companies are now demanding that trucks be tracked at all times. While this may not be good news for drivers, it’s certainly allowed Kenyan companies to keep tabs on their goods around the clock.
While the recent GPS tracking boom has a lot of Kenyan businesspeople talking, this trend is bound to pick up in other countries as well. Certain countries are considered “high-risk” within the trucking world, and many truckloads passing through these countries cannot be insured.
It’s safe to assume that those high-risk countries may become a thing of the past as GPS trackers become more and more popular worldwide. Gone are the days when truckloads of goods disappear into thin air. Now, technology has found a way to make truckloads of goods safe – no matter where in the world they may be located.
