Fleet vehicles are everywhere.  Even in smaller communities, delivery vehicles are seen on the streets making their daily runs.  By now, most know and understand the principles of management that are important to fleet operations.  But, lest any should wonder about GPS Tracking systems and how they can help, they are repeated here.

Preventive Management

Checking mileage, scheduling maintenance stops are both part of preventive maintenance that is performed on fleet vehicles.  This is a proactive approach to making sure that your vehicles do not break down in the middle of your productive times when you need them most.  It is not 100%, but when preventive maintenance occurs regularly, it does cut down on the costs of more expensive repairs and upkeep.

GPS Tracking devices help you monitor miles driven and hours of service on the road.

Predictive Management

Looking at GPS Tracking data which tells you not only the number of miles driven but also takes into consideration the terrain that your vehicles move across helps you schedule maintenance and management based upon use factors.  This data can also be used in scheduling of routes and deliveries, as well.

Reliability-based Management

Knowing where your vehicles are at all times helps create a better customer satisfaction from being able to meet their expectations.  Being a reliable carrier helps set you apart from your competition and gives you an edge when it comes time to evaluate your services.  GPS Tracking is at the forefront of this effort with real-time tracking from one central location in your business.

Safety Management

Teaching your drivers to closely watch their adherence to posted limits and laws makes them safer drivers and helps reduce the number of incidents that steal profitability away from your business.  When they know that they are being monitored closely, their behaviors are modified and they become better drivers because of it.

Which would you rather have – reactionary based management where you are constantly reacting to things that happen, or a proactive model that keeps the reactionary times to a minimum?  That’s an easy one to answer and so is the question about obtaining a GPS Tracking system for your fleet of vehicles.  Do it today – you’ll be glad you did.
