“Where in the world am I?” is a question we have all asked ourselves at some point. Now, with GPS technology, this question is easily answered. All you need is a GPS tracker and access to a web-enabled device such as a computer or cell phone. The tracker transmits information from the satellite to the program on the computer or cell phone. The information that is received is travel data such as the speed, location, and stops made by the vehicle or asset.
GPS Tracking & Sports
It was recently reported that the five Final Four teams in the NCAA tournament were transported via large SUV’s. These SUV’s are very important because they carry the players that may ultimately bring victory to their school. Because of the importance of their “cargo,” these SUV’s were watched carefully. The best choice to watch these vehicles was with the use of GPS trackers. There is a large company that provided all of the trackers for the vehicles, and this company was estimated to make roughly about $10,000 for their services.
Aside from the tracking of the vehicles, the large company also tracked key players, administrators, and assistants. The safety of the players and key team employees was of utmost importance during this intense time of competition. There was a large team of people trained with GPS trackers who were assigned to watch either an individual or a group of players. Their location was tracked in the cars using a tracking key, and, in some cases, a personal tracker used on a key player as well.
This same company has plenty experience in protecting players and team staff because they provided the same type of service for the NFL’s Super Bowl teams and their staff. This service was definitely needed during the Super Bowl to keep the high-paid football players safe, and was definitely needed during the Final Four to keep all the college basketball players safe. GPS trackers ensure teams’ complete safety.
