Monitoring Teens Via GPS
With nearly 4000 teens losing their lives nationwide in 2006 because of injuries sustained while driving, there is no denying the impact poor driving habits can have on a teen driver. Before acquiring a license, teens must first learn some basic safety rules that could be life saving such as always wearing a seat belt, obeying posted speed limit signs, not following other cars too closely, scanning intersections before crossing and more.
Although parents, driving schools and driver’s education courses do a good job of teaching teens how to operate motor vehicles and understand the rules of the road, how can a parent be sure a teen driver has taken the driving knowledge and is applying it correctly?
How can a parent or guardian be assured their teen driver is driving safely?
What many parents are now doing, to uncover the unknown driving behaviors of their teen drivers and validate safety, is turning toward GPS tracking system technology.
GPS monitoring devices were once only used by businesses and law enforcement agencies for vehicle surveillance, but as the cost of the technology has fallen dramatically an entire new market opened up. As cost decreased, parents working on a budget were now able to afford vehicle tracking devices, making monitoring of teen driver safety a cinch.
Vehicle tracking devices are great monitoring tools for parents because GPS trackers can gather driving information such as speeds driven, addresses arrived, addresses exited, stops made and much more, making them the answer to discovering what a teen driver is doing when they are on the road alone.
