Tracking Teen Drivers with GPS

Posted on May 19, 2011 in Family and personal relationships, GPS Tracking News | by Admin

Most parents dread the day that their teenager will ask for the car keys. After all, who knows where he will go? Who will he end up with? Is he really trustworthy? For millions of American parents, these questions have been a daily reality, and there has been very little that could be done to answer them – until now. GPS tracking allows concerned mothers and fathers to track their teenager’s location at all times.
GPS for TeensAs a parent, you have a vested interest in knowing where your child goes when she leaves the house. A GPS tracking device is not an invasion of privacy – it is a safety mechanism, which can be easily installed in your child’s vehicle without their knowledge. Simply take the car to the mechanic one day, and come home with a discretely tagged vehicle. You will never have to wonder about your child’s whereabouts again. The tracker will allow you to consistently access the vehicle’s coordinates so that you always know where your child is.

Even if you have complete confidence in your teenager’s truthfulness about his whereabouts, there is another aspect of his driving to consider: distractedness. Studies have shown that drivers under the age of 20 are the most frequent culprits of distracted driving. And while the radio and conversation with friends are certainly distractions, the number one cause of distracted driving among teenagers these days is text messaging.

If your child loves to text, the fear that he will end up in an accident is likely palpable. You have read the statistics – 5400 people died in 2009 as a result of distracted driving, with more than 400,000 injured. Concerned parents have thus begun to take advantage of GPS technology which allows them not only to track the car, but to track whether or not their teen is texting while driving. Mobile Tattletale is an innovative smart phone application which tracks the speed that the driver goes and disables the texting function once they reach a parent-designated speed.

For parents who are serious about protecting their children, GPS tracking is the wave of the future. Whether you install a tracker on your teenager’s vehicle or simply download a text disabling application onto his cell phone, GPS could save his life in a dangerous situation. Don’t spend another evening worrying about your child’s driving safety. Let GPS help you rest easy.
