CEVA Logistics has made the decision to lease over a thousand trailers from Ryder, all full service, taking the burden off of CEVA to maintain the trailers themselves.

CEVA is a logistics solution leader focusing on the automotive, technology, energy, retail, and industrial sectors, and was named Global Supplier of the Year at the annual supplier conference held in China back in May.

The trailers will be outfitted with GPS tracking devices, allowing CEVA to monitor gas consumption and helping the company to lessen their carbon footprint, which is something they feel is important.  CEVA believes their customers prefer features such as those offered on the Ryder trailer, such as “side skirts, low rolling resistance tires, [and] satellite tracking and tire inflation systems.”

The ten year contract calls for a fleet coordinator provided by Ryder who will track the trailers’ whereabouts using specific GPS coordinates, taking yet another burden off of CEVA’s shoulders and allowing them to do what they do best: manage global supply chains.
