ExakTime Announces PocketClock GPS App

Posted on November 19, 2011 in GPS Tracking Devices, GPS Tracking News | by Admin

ExakTime, a time and attendance software company popular with contractors, recently added several new features to their PocketClock GPS App. ExakTime has helped companies simplify accurate time keeping with its first product, JobClock, in 1999. Since then, ExakTime has been working to innovate weather-proof time and attendance tracking for construction and similar industries. Not only does the new software include biometrics and GPS tracking of equipment, it is also now available in French. The app is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, Android and Windows Mobile tablet PCs and smart phones.

The FaceFront Biomentrics feature is perfect for contractors or other companies with mobile employees. FaceFront uses the camera lens on any smart phone or mobile device to take a photo of the employee when he or she clocks in and out. The application records the exact time employees start and finish work, and the photo helps prevent one employee clocking in for another.

“FaceFront Biometrics was developed with contractors in mind,” explained ExakTime’s CEO, Tony Pappas. “A traditional biometrics solution can’t withstand harsh, outdoor environments contractors work in. Often, workers wear gloves or get their hands dirty, so relying on a thumb print would be impractical. Also, typical biometrics systems aren’t portable or battery powered, and they don’t travel with crews.”

ExakTime’s PocketClock GPS app’s GPS tracking feature is ideal for construction companies, but will also work well for any company with a lot of mobile and valuable equipment. The software allows employers to attach devices to their equipment at a particular worksite, and monitor its exact location and movement remotely. Employees can also use the software to send notes, photos and voice recordings from the field to the home-office. Implementing GPS tracking for valuable equipment can help recover stolen property, and ensure that employees are using the equipment properly.
