GPS Tracking Just Keeps Getting Better—and Smaller

Posted on December 4, 2011 in GPS Tracker, GPS Tracking, GPS Tracking Devices, GPS Tracking News | by Hillary Mayfield

GPS Intelligence has launched its newest and smallest GPS tracking device ever, the MicroTracker II, more affectionately known as the MicroTracker Black. Though smaller and lighter than a standard credit card, this tracking device packs a punch when it comes to versatility and applications. And its black design lends itself to concealment, making it a favorite with surveillance professionals such as private detectives and security and loss prevention personnel.
About GPS Intelligence
GPS Intelligence, an Arizona-based company, began in 2006 as a location-based service that specializes in providing and promoting advanced technology for not only law enforcement agencies and government operations but also for commercial use. Its three major divisions include Asset Tracking, Vehicle and Fleet Tracking, and CoverTrack©. The first two divisions are self-explanatory, but the third division was started to “enhance the design [of GPS tracking devices] to suit requirements for more covert surveillance needs” as noted by the company’s president, Jeff Evert.

About MicroTracker II

Like most GPS tracking devices, this compact unit can track people, possessions, and vehicles; however, this device is able to track for three weeks without needing to be recharged, and an extended battery pack can lengthen that time to 45 days. The system uses a triangulation of cell towers to maximize its ability to track even in buildings, densely populated areas, mountainous areas, and remote areas. Its online tracking system provides an aerial map with coordinates and direction of movement, and there is no need to install any software; you can access the information through your personal computer or PDA-supported cell phone with updates available in increments of 2 minutes or even every 5 seconds. Various mounting devices for vehicles, valuables, and persons are available for maximum concealment.
At $225 a unit, the MicroTracker II is a top of the line tracking device made especially for covert operations. With its sleek black design, the MicroTracker can be concealed anywhere, even in the smallest of places. So whether you’ve been hired to track the movements of a person or locate stolen property, this inexpensive GPS tracking device can help you get the job done faster and easier, and not just in the United States; you will have the ability to track around the world.
