The decision of how to best care for the elderly and infirmed can be a very challenging one. You want to be there for them as often as possible, but you already have many demands on your life that have to be met to take care of you and your immediate family members. One option might be to send them to a special home or community that would care for them, but this choice can often crush the spirits of the patients admitted because they still desire to maintain as much independence as possible.

However, a good balanced alternative does exist. More elaborate devices may be purchased that include components that can monitor certain vital signs of the wearer and send out notifications if there is any change that would warrant emergency medical attention.

But with something as important as the health, safety, and happiness of your loved one at stake, the monetary price you may pay is minimal compared to the potential physical and emotional rewards.
