If you discuss this topic with others and let them know how adamant you are about protecting your children and other family members, you will probably be considered a “nut.” Yet, who are the first to exclaim that “we never thought that this would happen in our community” when it comes to violent crimes? That’s right, those who never thought bad things would happen.

Yes, there are measures that you can take to protect your world. Some are small, some are large, some are cheap, and some are expensive. How much is your family’s safety worth?

You buy insurance to protect from catastrophic occurrences. You purchase an alarm system for your house to protect against intruders, fire and other dangers. Some go to the extreme to purchase and keep firearms in their homes (and some carry on their person) for personal protection.

But what about using GPS tracking to help provide assistance should something happen? How can these devices help you?

Track Things

Keeping watch on your personal property is easy as long as it resides in the confines of your house or garage. But, in the case of vehicles, RVs, Motorcycles, 4 Wheelers, Water Craft, Snow Mobiles, etc, you cannot be as sure with these unless you have a method of tracking them while they are being used. That is where GPS tracking can help. Attaching one of these devices will allow you to know where they are at all times.

Track Movement

Do you need to know where your things are headed? Has something been stolen and you need to know where it is located? You can track the movement of your property and report to police if it has been stolen. They would much rather recover something instantly, as opposed to the days, weeks, months, or maybe even never that it can take to return it to you.

Track Verification

Is your family member using a vehicle in a manner that places them in danger or are they doing something that they are not supposed to be doing? Now you can know with a GPS tracking device.

Track Lower Insurance

Insurance companies provide breaks on premiums when GPS tracking devices are employed. It reduces their risk and they share that reduction with you.

It does not matter what others say. When it comes to the safety and welfare of your family, no price is too high. Protecting them and your property is your responsibility. You can make this happen with reasonably priced GPS tracking devices. Once you do, you’ll wonder why it took so long to get it done to begin with!

by James Neely, freelance writer: click | HERE | to inquire about writing services

Here comes a story from California that chronicles the events surrounding the death of an 11 year old boy after he and his mother were stranded in Death Valley National Park. It appears that it all started with a flat tire on their vehicle, and then soon escalated into survival after trying to use a GPS navigation device for directions.

GPS Navigation

This underscores the importance of having the right technology, and knowing how to use it properly. GPS navigation devices are useful for finding directions and some ancillary features and benefits. Apparently, though that was not enough for this woman in helping her to get out of her predicament.

She and her son ventured into the wilderness in order to camp for the night and enjoy the outdoors. Doing this in such a remote location requires both planning and foresight in order to allow for the possibilities that exist in these locations.

GPS tracking devices are made for just such situations. Here are the ways that GPS tracking can help those in dire circumstances.

Discover Location

When travelling in locations where there are few roads, GPS tracking becomes almost mandatory. Having a signal to use to track a person or vehicle is better than having nothing. This is especially true if there were foul play involved. In the case above, there were very faint cell phone signals so they could not be used in tracking the missing persons. Something more robust is necessary and that is a GPS tracking device.

Track Movement

If people or vehicles are on the move, you can know it with a GPS tracking device. You can track in real-time and relay the location and direction of travel to local authorities who can then intercept the persons of interest. In the case of the missing woman, it would have been easy to locate them via GPS tracking with NavIQ software from RM Tracking.

Keeps Tracking

Should your GPS tracking device become disconnected from a battery source, the internal battery keeps the unit alive and emitting a signal for tracking purposes for days. This will aid in the tracking process.

It is easy to second-guess and play “what if” for any situation, but the fact is that having a GPS tracking device as a safety precaution is better than being without it and wishing you had one. The benefits far out-weight the costs of these units. The safety provided is priceless.

By Greg Bartlett

Do you really know where everyone in your family is right now? Is your teenage daughter really at the mall like she said, or did she head out to her friend’s house where you told her not to go? What about your spouse? Is your 6th grader already at the ball park, or is he still at school?

Most families today have busy schedules and it’s hard to keep track of where everyone is at all times. especially if they’re not where they said they’d be. Thankfully, technology has provided a way for you to keep track of your family and to know where they are. With GSP monitoring, you can follow the steps of your family wherever they go.

Some GPS devices are designed to be placed in vehicles, and others are small and portable enough that you can put them on the actual person you are monitoring. Then you can go to a computer and check up on them at any time. The GPS monitoring system can even be set to send email or text alerts to particular individuals. Parents often use these to make sure their kids got to school, work, a game, or wherever else they are going. That way they can be automatically alerted when, for instance, their teenagers leave school or go out of preset boundaries.

Some GPS devices are small enough that they look like a USB drive. They can be placed in someone’s purse, pocket, car, or backpack, and carried around with little to no bother to the individual being tracked. GPS devices have even been placed in shoes and other items of clothing.

GPS monitoring is popular among individuals concerned about where their family members are. Sometimes they’re worried about the fidelity of a spouse, about an older family member who’s alone and might wander off and get lost, or about a family member who could be in dangerous situation. Hikers, for instance, especially when traveling alone or in hazardous areas, can take GPS devices with them so that they can be monitored by concerned but non-hiking family members.
Many personal GPS devices have an emergency or panic button, which allows them to notify family, police, or medical personnel if an emergency arises.

Keeping track of your busy family doesn’t have to be a headache. With GPS monitoring, all you have to do is check your computer or cell phone to make sure that everyone is okay and where they’re supposed to be.

By Greg Bartlett

Many of us tend to worry about those we love. Where are they? What are they doing? Sometimes the concern turns into suspicion. Are they really just stuck in traffic? What do they do each day while you’re gone?

For some people, constant phone calls are the answer to allaying their fears. For others, a private investigator may be able to answer questions. And for some individuals, GSP systems may be the solution to their worries and concerns. With GPS tracking devices, they can find out where their loved ones are and often what they’re doing as well.

For instance, one new program allows users to send information via their phones. Users can choose to send someone their information, which can include their location, what they’re doing, and their surroundings. For instance, it can show speed and traffic conditions, so your boss can know if you really are stuck in traffic or if that’s just an excuse because you got out of bed late.

One man uses a similar system to track his wife. He knows what speed she’s driving at, and may call and question her if it looks erratic. He knows where she’s going and can ask her immediately if he’s puzzled about her location. Users can also send notes to people, for instance telling coworkers you’re headed to a meeting or informing your wife that you’ve just gotten off work and are starting home. And messages that are sent can be verified, such as if you claim that you’re stuck in traffic while your GPS systems are saying you’re still at work.

Some people do complain that GPS systems which track every movement are too invasive. These programs can be restricted, though, and for many of the programs, it is the one being tracked who chooses who will be tracking them and for how long. The person being tracked can limit the tracking capability to a few seconds, just letting someone know about their current location, or can let them monitor their activities for hours. In today’s society, constantly sharing information about where you are and what you’re doing is fairly common. So most people are willing to let others watch their movements, even if it can be a bit annoying at times.

Using GPS systems to track your movements and the activities of those you love can reduce worry and tension and provide you and your family with the peace and security you need.
