Teen drivers: the bane of every parent. You debate not letting your teenagers get their licenses until they’re at least twenty, but at the same time, it is convenient to let them drive themselves to work, to school, to soccer practice, and to piano lessons. But how can you be sure that your teenagers are driving safely and that they are where they said they’d be? Just because they said they’d be studying at a friend’s house, does that mean they actually are? And just because they said they’d be careful, does that mean they are actually driving safely?

What you don't know can hurt everyone!
Teenagers are some of the most reckless drivers in the country. Each year, many teenagers are killed or injured in vehicle accidents. But the driver is not the only one to suffer – passengers, people in other cars, pedestrians, and family members can all be affected by your teenager’s reckless driving.
With GPS vehicle tracking, you can keep tabs on your teenagers and ensure that they are driving safely. One program is specifically designed to alert parents if teenagers are driving recklessly. The tracking device can detect the type of road, such as an interstate or back road, matches the speed of the car to the approximate speed that should be used based on the road type, and notifies parents if the teenager is speeding. Parents can also check to find out the location of the vehicle, and if the car is being driven after curfew, parents will be immediately notified. Teenagers also have access to a panic button in case the car breaks down or they need help but don’t have access to a cell phone. And if the teenager tries to turn off GPS vehicle tracking, then the parents will be notified.
Some GPS tracking devices can be set to notify you, the parent, whenever your child just goes outside of predetermined boundaries, while others are set to be less invasive and have more of a focus on just slowing teenage drivers down, only notifying you if the teenager is speeding or driving recklessly.
Monitoring your teenager driver is possible with GPS vehicle tracking. You can check to make sure that your teenagers are driving safely and responsibly, and that they are obeying your rules. If necessary, you can check on their location and make certain that they are where they’re supposed to be. Teenage drivers don’t have to be a nightmare. Safety, security, and peace of mind are available with GPS vehicle tracking.

When kids are young, parents set boundaries for how far away they can venture from home. When they are very young, the boundary may be the neighbor’s driveway. As they get older and hopefully more responsible, the boundaries can be extended. When they get their driver’s license what can a parent do about keeping the teenage driver within their boundaries?

What you don't know can hurt everyone!
Giving a teenage an operator permit and access to an automobile provides them a measure of independence that they have never had before. Prior to access to a vehicle, the teenager was predominately under the watchful eye of the parent. With the parent stated boundaries can be transgressed with near impunity. The only way a parent can be sure that the boundaries are not exceeded is through a vehicle tracking system.
GPS tracking systems can be very elaborate. There are tracking systems that can be preset for a mileage radius from the home. If that radius is exceeded, the parent is provided with several options.
The first option is simply that an alarm is provided by the vehicle tracking system to the parents computer, land line or cell phone. This alerts the parent that the vehicle has exceeded the pre determined limit. What the parent does with this warning is up to the parent. Through the vehicle tracking system, the parent can watch where the vehicle goes, where it stops and how long it is stopped. This can later be discussed with the teenage driver letting them know that their restricted area for driving has been exceeded.
The parent can make a more radical and often dramatic response. Many tracking systems can be wired into the ignition of the vehicle and the vehicle can be immobilized through the use of the vehicle tracking system. Should the restricted limit be exceeded, when the vehicle comes to a stop, it can be remotely immobilized. Imagine the teenage driver returning to their car and not being able to start the vehicle. They know that they are beyond the limits but now must contact the parent and ask that they come and get them.
A vehicle tracking system can also provide data as to the speed that the vehicle is being driven. While most teenagers think that they can drive as well as Jimmy Johnson, all parents know that they cannot. Knowing how fast the car has been driven and on what roads provides the parent the opportunity to provide further driving instructions for the teenager.
A vehicle tracking system installed in a teenager’s car provides the parent the assurance that agreed upon limits are not being exceeded and that the vehicle is being operated in a safe manner. Without a vehicle tracking system in the teenager’s car, the parent will have no idea of those parameters and be at the mercy of the teenage driver.

In the world of teen driving accountability is important along with the training that young drivers receive before they obtain their license. The result of these two efforts will bring about safer roads. Who bears the blame when teen drivers are turned out into the streets before they are truly ready? The responsibility for insuring that they are trained correctly ultimately lies with their family because it is those who are with the young drivers the most and can monitor whether or not the student has grasped the concepts and is following through by being putting their training into action.
Once a teen driver is out on their own, a GPS Tracking system can help provide tracking and monitoring for responsible vehicle usage. These systems provide information not just on location, but speed and direction of travel. The accountability factor is built in to the system. The installation of one of these units sends a message that compliance with rule and regulations on the streets is not an option.
With budget cuts and trimmed work forces, local police presence on our streets and roadways is diminished. This means that there are fewer eyes on the roads to help monitor compliance to speed limits and other safe driving practices such as not talking on cell phones and other distractions.
Every time a teen loses his or her life on our streets and highways, we are feel indicted and wonder what could have been done differently. The unknown details of an incident might remain a mystery, but with a GPS Tracking system, at least we have an opportunity to help avoid disaster. Who among us remembers times in our own lives when our youthful inexperience led us to do some inexcusable Things? And if things had been different, lives may have been lost as a result.
Why not do what is necessary to avoid the possibility of tragedy occurring? Why not use technology that is easy to obtain and affordable to help keep our children safe? Whether or not they know of the existence of the system in the car in which they are travelling is immaterial. The GPS car tracking system can be there to help in the event that if something happens, at least a clue to the reasons why will be available to you.
It is up to you to value the lives of your children over the cost of these systems. It only takes a short amount of time to implement one. That short time could be the factor that helps save lives. It is worth it.

As warmer weather rolls into the upper states in the U.S., driver training cars begin to take to the roads in greater numbers. This means young drivers will be on the roads very soon and with them comes the concerns about safety. This is especially true because of the many distractions to young minds when they are driving.

Student Driver
The sad truth is that some teens are turned out onto the roads before they are fully ready for the responsibility. But even of higher concern is the lack of oversight in monitoring of compliance to rules and regulations by these young drivers. The responsibility for this lies with the parents. But they cannot be with the drivers at all times so the risk is very real and too often produces tragic results.
That is why a family with young drivers should consider placing a GPS Tracking system into the vehicles that will be driven by teen drivers. The ability to constantly track a vehicle by speed, direction and location sends a message that adherence to laws and rules is not optional.
You also get the added benefit of being able to verify speeds at which the vehicle has been driven which gives insight into how safe of a driver is at the wheel. This is great because local police are not able to be everywhere to make sure laws are not being broken.
Being able to ‘look over the shoulder’ in order to increase accountability is a good thing. We all have stories of times in our past when things were done with vehicles that are scary when thinking about what possible outcomes could have brought. Having a GPS Tracking system is like having an adult watching at all times.
Since you are not going to be able to be where your child is at all times in order to check on their driving habits, it only makes sense to obtain one of these units and use it to your advantage. Whether or not you tell your teen of its existence is a discussion left for parents to grapple over.
A GPS vehicle tracking system provides an affordable solution for safety and information to help keep teen drivers aware of their responsibilities with 4,000 pound vehicles. Everyone needs a little help and with these units you will get that help. Install them, use them, keep your children safe and honest. It is the best you can do.

I remember the day I decided to get a car with GPS tracking. It was a Monday, two years ago. I was on the phone at work when I happened to glance out my office window. I guess I unconsciously looked for my own car. I spotted it just as the call ended. As I was hanging up I noticed a sizable dent in the passenger door. My first reaction was that somebody had hit me after I had parked, but as soon as that thought occurred to me I discounted it because I had parked at the end of a row. That put the passenger door right next to a chain link fence, where it couldn’t have been hit.
I knew the dent hadn’t happened while I’d been driving, and I was the only one who drove the car - my wife has her own. If I had GPS tracking, I wondered, would I be able to check my travel history and find out when the car was used without my knowledge? I thought back to the night before. I’d gone to bed after the 11 o’clock news. The only person still up was my 15 year old son, Bobby.
That was when I knew Bobby had taken my car out for a joyride. I confronted him that night and he swore up and down that he hadn’t. I wanted to believe him, but it seemed to fit. Like all 15 year olds, Bobby had been pushing the limits of his parent’s tolerance - staying out later and later until we had to impose a curfew. His last report card hadn’t been great, either, come to think of it.
It is a terrible moment when you realize your child is lying and there is nothing you can do about it. GPS tracking would have eliminated his plausible deniability. I talked with my wife. We were worried by our son’s behavior. Kids today live in a culture that contains so many temptations; so many threats. I’d been looking at buying a new car and we had discussed the GPS option.
That night we decided a GPS device was something we needed - for the sake of our son. We bought the new car, and we mentioned anything about device. The next time Bobby went joyriding, we knew where he’d gone - a seedy neighborhood known for drug usage and then to a friend’s. Today Bobby’s back on track, thanks to GPS tracking.

Your teenager is about to get his first driver’s license. You have some concerns about this; you remember well how you drove when you first got your license. A friend mentions to you in conversation that you can get a device that will tell you where your teenager and their car are at any time. This sounds like a good solution; however, which GPS tracking system do you buy?
When you bought your car you did research on which vehicle best fit your needs. When you are purchasing a tracking unit, you also need to do some research. Fortunately, by using the Internet, research is relatively easy when looking for a unit that will fit your needs.
There are several considerations in buying one of these units. How much data do you need? Obviously you want to know location but do you also want to know speed and engine data? Do you want to be able to view the data in real time or is data stored in the unit and downloaded at a later time satisfactory?
As with any other product, the more options that you select the more expensive the unit becomes. At some point critical choices must be made due to budgetary considerations. Once you have decided which options you desire, those options should be prioritized to enable you to meet the most critical concerns while still staying inside your budget.
Once you have decided upon 2 or 3 units that will meet your expectations find and read reviews on the units. These reviews will provide you the user experience of others and provide you more data to make your final decision.
When you have finally decided upon a GPS tracking system, you often have the choice of installing the unit yourself or having the installation done by a professional. One thing that you can be sure of is that your new driver will eventually know it is installed in the vehicle. Even the most covert installation will be uncovered once you provide the new driver the data that you have recorded about their driving habits. Having the data is only beneficial if you can modify the driving habits of the new driver. Presenting the data to the new driver will reveal the installation of the system in their vehicle.
There is no one best GPS tracking unit on the market. Each of the systems has benefits and drawbacks. Some systems will provide more information than you need some won’t provide enough. Only diligent research will provide you the material that you need to make the final decision, which GPS tracking system is right for you.

One statistic that cannot be avoided is that younger less experienced drivers are more likely to be involved in an automobile accident than more experienced drivers. A 16 or 17 year old driver who has just received their license has little or no relevant experience in driving a motor vehicle. This lack of experience often leads to situations that more experienced drivers would not find themselves in. These situations can be monitored through the use of a GPS vehicle tracking device and then brought to the immature driver’s attention.
A typical youthful driver seldom recognizes that they have put themselves into a potentially hazardous situation. In many cases an experienced driver is not with the inexperienced driver when those situations occur. Remote monitoring of the vehicle allows the inexperienced drivers actions to be reviewed and then discussed when the inexperienced driver returns home.
The acquisition of a driver’s license provides the teenager the first real responsibility of their life. The removal of the constraint from adult supervision allows the sense of freedom from rules imposed by others. Rules, however, in the form of traffic rules, must be obeyed. The sense of freedom often includes the disregard for traffic rules. Through the utilization of a tracking system the inexperienced driver will recognize that they are not completely free from parental oversight.
The manner in which a youthful driver will operate a motor vehicle will change when an adult is in the car. The car will be driven in a more sedate, cautious manner than it will be when the driver is alone or with contemporaries. The youthful driver who may drive like they are in a funeral procession when an adult is with them may drive like they are on the NASCAR circuit when the adult is not present. A GPS vehicle tracking system allows the youthful driver the knowledge that an adult is always with them.
GPS vehicle tracking systems provide an opportunity to review youthful driver’s actions after they return home. This provides a learning experience for the youthful driver in that an experienced driver can show them things that they may not have realized they had done. This time can help the youthful driver learn in such a way that previously could not have been obtained. With the knowledge that their driving is being monitored, the youthful driver will drive in a more sedate, safe manner so as not to incur the discipline of the parent when they arrive home. GPS vehicle tracking can be of help to any parent and teenage driver.

An interesting story out of Indiana finds that state in the midst of attempting to pass legislation that is aimed at keeping teen drivers safe by increasing the age at which they can obtain a drivers license to 16 ½. In addition, this new set of regulations seeks to restrict the first six months of a teen’s driving to family and adults only. While these intentions are to be applauded the question is will they really help usher in a safer driving environment for teens?
Everyone recognizes that law enforcement officers are already beset with enforcing mounting regulations on our busy streets and highways. Will they have the foresight and presence of mind to pull over every vehicle that is being driven by someone who looks like a teenager?
The primary focus of safety efforts on our roads should be in training and accountability. Too often, teens are turned into drivers before they are ready. But, worse than this is the lack of oversight that produces adherence to rules and regulations by parents and family.
One way that this issue can be tackled better is with a GPS Tracking system. Once placed into your vehicle, you can accurately track where and when that vehicle has been driven. Informing those in your family who have driver’s licenses of this system sends a message that enforcement of rules and laws is not an option.
Not only that, this system provides data on how fast the vehicle was driven as well. The local police might not be around to enforce speed limits when your teen driver is on the road, but you have that ability in one of these systems.
An extra set of eyes is good for accountability as well. We all have driving stories in our past that we are loathe to repeat because we understand and recognize that if the circumstances were different, outcomes could have been devastating. And we also know that if there were someone looking over our shoulder at the time, things would have been different.
The fact is that you are not going to be able to be everywhere at all times to check on your children. But why not use technology that gives you a hand in performing this task? This technology is complete, thorough and provides everything you need to be a wise parent in knowing what your teen driver are doing with your vehicles.
The cost for these systems is very affordable, but the sense of safety and added comfort in knowing what your teens are up to is priceless.

GPS tracking has come under a lot of fire lately. Some people view this type of tracking device as an invasion of privacy. Others see GPS tracking as a way to control events and situations that are usually out of control. No matter how you view this topic, there’s no debating the fact that GPS opens up a world of possibilities that would otherwise never be plausible.
What are some of those possibilities? Let’s begin with the truant and troublesome teenager. If you are a parent, then you know what it feels like to worry about your teen all day long. This worrisome feeling only extends as your teen grows, and sometimes you wish that you could follow your teen everywhere in order to make sure that they are safe.
With the help of a GPS auto tracker, you can easily keep tabs on your teenager wherever they wander. If your teen decides to go out one night, simply slip a GPS into their bag. This way, you can be sure that your teen will be safe no matter where they go. In addition, you can add a tracker to your teen’s backpack…just to make sure that they actually attend school on a daily basis. Aside from tracking your teen, there are other useful ways to use that device.
If you run any kind of business, you may wonder whether or not your employees are actually working as much as they claim to be. Well, many other companies wonder the same thing, which is why some companies have begun to use GPS to track and trace each employee during work hours. Companies have found that employees are less likely to leave work, stop working, or come in late to work when they know that they are being tracked.
Not only does this type of employee tracking cut down on company costs, it also alerts employers as to the type of employees that are working for them. If you want to keep tabs on your company money, think about using a tracking device. Clearly, tracking devices are quite handy no matter what the situation might be.
Whether you want to track your teen; keep your child safe; or keep a watchful eye on your employees, there is no better way to do all of these things than with a GPS auto tracker. These small, undetectable, trackers may be the subject of many debates, but those that use them know their true worth.

Ever since it became available to the general public in the 1990s, GPS technology has proven its worth in more than one way. In vehicles, GPS tracking systems have become an invaluable asset to businesses and individuals alike. There are many factors that contribute to the value of a GPS tracking system.
A GPS tracking system is an incredible value to businesses. The amount of money that has been saved over the last few years on fuel alone has been enough to pay for every single GPS device sold at least five times over. In addition, GPS tracking systems have been valuable sources of data that could be used to settle customer disputes and claims that employees overbilled for time spent at their location. Dispatchers are able to use GPS tracking systems to monitor the locations of company vehicles and route employees to new locations based on who is closest or will be closest according to the available data.
Individuals have found a wide variety of uses for GPS tracking systems. One of the foremost benefits of having one of these systems for businesses and individuals both is the ability to track a vehicle and have it recovered by police in the event of a theft. A side benefit is an increase in the number of arrests made for car theft when the police are able to follow at a safe distance to avoid spooking the thief into attempting to flee while staying close enough to catch him when the vehicle stops.
Parents are able to follow the movements of their teenage drivers as they begin making excursions away from home. The speed, direction of travel, and location of the teens is easily accessible to the parents if they have a computer with an active internet connection. If the data from GPS tracking devices shows the teens are operating in an area deemed out of bounds or operating at unsafe speeds, they are able to contact the teens via cell phone and warn them that they are breaking the rules and the data can be used to back the parents up when they choose to punish the teens.
Spouses who suspect their mates of infidelity can track the movements of the vehicle and tell if the spouse is really working late as was stated or if the vehicle is across town at a motel.
The value of a GPS tracking system has been proven repeatedly in both business and personal applications since the technology was made available to the public over 10 years ago.
