You need to use every advantage that you can find to run your business lean and mean these days. If not, you’ll find yourself stuck in a bind financially in a hurry. Technology is a great place to look for ways to run an efficient operation and here are five of the best reasons to implement GPS Tracking to help you run lean while maximizing profits.

Employee Safety and Responsibility

Driver safety is of the utmost importance and once you have installed GPS Tracking devices into your fleet of vehicles it will send a message to them that you care about their safety. But, with their position comes responsibility while they perform their job. They are on the streets and roads for hours at a time. The ability to ‘look over their shoulder’ with GPS Tracking helps them maintain a heightened sense of awareness to the task at hand and gives you an advantage not heretofore realized in being able to monitor their location, direction of travel and speed.

Compliance with Traffic Laws

Ever notice that when one is being followed by a police car they instantly turn into the best driver ever? That is essentially the same thing that happens when GPS Tracking devices are on-board with your fleet drivers. And, they know that adhering to traffic laws is mandatory, but unless there is a way to make sure they do, they won’t. So, GPS Tracking does this job for them. They become better drivers, you notice that there are fewer incidents with moving violations.

Better Route Management

Monitoring routes via remote mapping helps managers discover things about the routes that might be hampering the speed at which a driver can make his or her rounds. One of the main things is traffic flow. While fleet businesses are powerless in getting traffic signals changed, it might be worth a try to see if that can happen. Making the point that is would be good for all traffic (including public transportation like buses) just might get traffic managers to lend assistance. If this is not possible, then routes can be modified to make sure that it happens.

Accounting and Insurance Advantages

Information that goes into billing customers is crucial in the delivery business. With GPS Tracking systems, reports can be generated to show the positive things that are done to help insure the best of service. Accurate billing systems in place keep your accounting costs lower as well! Knowing your vehicles can be found if a theft occurs will give you a lower insurance rate. Don’t forget that it is not just the vehicles themselves that would be stolen, but also the valuable tools and equipment inside the vans need to be recovered! Wouldn’t you sleep better knowing that gps tracking was always “on the job?”

Provide Evidence of Activities

Has your firm ever been accused of not delivering on time? Was your truck and driver where it was supposed to be? Now you can provide that information in court-admissible form from your system. Peace of mind? Now you’re talking. Factual data speaks for you and tracking data has been proven in court many times.

To top this all off, customer service goes through the roof. When clients realize the amount of time and effort that is expended in making their satisfaction a top priority, they will stay with you for a long time to come. Consider that you will be doing a lot more than your competition. It’s a great feeling and it is made possible by your GPS Tracking device.

Vehicle tracking systems can be used in a variety of ways. One of the most common ways is for a fleet of vehicle, usually for a car rental service or for a business that provides house calls for its customers. When a car rental uses GPS tracking on their vehicles, it is usually to protect against vehicles being stolen or lost. A business may use the vehicle tracking system to determine the amount of time its workers are spending at each house call, how much extra gas mileage they are expending, and how long they leave their vehicle running on the side of the road. Whatever the case may be, a vehicle tracking system can save you time and money in regards to your vehicle.

Vehicle Tracking Systems

GPS systems have recently become more popular as their uses have become more well-known. A GPS system is very easy to understand, but requires a few basic objects. First of all, you need a GPS tracking device. This item is attached to a car or a person either in secret or openly. Next, you must turn on the object so that it can begin recording or transmitting data. Once it has been activated, the GPS begins sending data to a series of satellites located in outer space, that then transfer the information to a central computer. This computer can analyze the data it receives and then place it in separate files as needed. Technicians will then take the data and pass it along to those that require it.

A vehicle tracking system can help in a variety of ways. Many companies have saved thousands of dollars as a result of their investment in this program. One company created a RFID GPS system that attaches to the car and records the time that a vehicle enters and exits certain vicinities. This helps officials to know whether someone has gone over a time limit or whether he or she was there during an event. A popular use of the vehicle tracking system is during Olympics or major public events. Authorities can track the cars, planes, or trains on which athletes or other famous people are located.

A vehicle tracking system could be just the thing that you need to help your company save money more efficiently. In just a short period of time, you will be able to see the results of your investment.

Vehicle tracking devices can come in a variety of forms. Whether for an undercover operation, or simply because you want to be easily found if you are ever lost, you can find affordable and easy to use trackers that are convenient for you and your needs. The basic GPS device that most people think of is the one that tells directions, speed, and location of a vehicle. This vehicle tracking device is placed in easy sight of everyone within the car. Another type of GPS is one that can be secretly placed on the car. This type of device is most often used for secret types of work, whether to track the location of business vehicles, to know where your spouse or child is driving, or to find a lost car.

Vehicle Tracking Devices

GPS tracking is a newer type of technology that has created quite a buzz in the business world. A GPS tracker is a very simply device that uses a variety of objects to determine its location. First of all, you start with the basic device that is attached to an object or person. It can be small or rather large, but must be turned on in order to be activated. Once the device has become engaged, it begins either transmitting or recording signals. A tracking device that records the signals on a hard drive is a passive tracker; one that transmits signals to a series of satellites is an active tracker. Once the signals are passed on to the satellites, the satellites begin reflecting them to a central computer that records and analyzes the data.

Vehicle tracking devices have become somewhat prominent in the news. One company has created GPS tracking software that has allowed several companies to recover lost tractors and other business devices. Due to their efforts, over $300,000 worth of equipment was found within an hour after it was stolen. Other businesses have used the devices to help them cut fuel costs, the time it takes to reach a customer’s house, and wasted hours on a job.

Whatever your situation may be, a GPS vehicle tracking device may be the thing that you need. There are several options available, depending on your financial situation and the type of device that you are looking for. Take a few minutes to find out if this affordable option is right for your cars.

By Greg Bartlett

Many people may wonder why some businesses find it necessary to install tracking devices in their vehicles. While it may seem like an unnecessary precaution to install vehicle tracking, some companies have found that fleet tracking has allowed them to better serve their customers, as well as save on fuel consumption. A company in the United Kingdom began tracing the effects of their tracking systems and found that some businesses saved up to 15% of their annual fuel costs. These savings have allowed them to quickly pay off and profit from the purchase of the vehicle tracking devices. Also, once an individual knows that they are being tracked in their car, they are much more likely to be conscious of their speed, time spent idling, and wasted gas mileage.

What is Vehicle Tracking?

GPS tracking can work in a variety of ways. Basically, the system starts with a tracker, or object which is placed onto or into a vehicle. This tracker can be passive or active, which will be explained later. Once the unit is activated, it begins transmitting signals. Currently, there are two different places where these signals can be passed along to. One option is to use the cell phone towers and pass along the signals to them, which will then pass it along to a central computer. The other option is to use a series of satellites in outer space. The information from the satellites is also passed to the central computers, where it is recorded and analyzed.

As stated before, there are two types of GPS vehicle tracking. Passive tracking involves an internal recording device in the GPS unit, which then downloads the information onto a computer when connected. The other type of tracking is active tracking, when the signals from the GPS are continually transmitted. While passive tracking is usually cheaper, the active GPS will keep you continually alerted as to your vehicle’s whereabouts.

A new GPS vehicle tracking company has started in the Philippines, with updates maps of the country, and up-to-date information on the unit at all times. Perspective Mobil Tracker claims to be able to keep you knowledgeable of all aspects of your vehicle – the speed it is traveling, whether its doors are opened or closed, how far it has traveled, and other facts.
As a parent, you know the joys of watching your child experience a myriad of firsts. The first step, the first solid food, the first word—all of these moments are indelibly inscribed in your memory as unforgettable cherished recollections. You know the heartbreak of watching your children experience rejection for the first time and the joy of seeing them succeed, and you wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything in the world. But what if those life altering moments were suddenly stolen from you?

GPS & Children

Kidnappings occur far more often in this country than most people realize and most are perpetrated by someone the child knows and trusts. That’s why parents should invest in a GPS tracking device to protect their children’s safety. You can’t be with your child every moment, but GPS tracking provides you with an extra set of eyes so that your child’s safety is never compromised.

Your GPS tracking device transmitter can be attached to your child’s backpack or clothing and will send a signal to your computer so that you can check on his or her whereabouts at any time. Depending on the model, you can view not only current location, but also a report of movement over time, speed, direction of travel, and number and length of stops made. All of this information can be invaluable to police in the event of a kidnapping.

Training your child to be cautious around strangers is always good strategy, but when your estranged spouse shows up at school and tells your child to get in the car, the child is likely to obey. That’s when your GPS tracking device can be of invaluable service. Many devices come with alert systems that will notify you if your child leaves a designated area. You can set up perimeters around your child’s school, your home, and other places that you frequent. If the GPS tracking device is taken outside those perimeters, you will receive an alert via email or text message, allowing you to immediately check your child’s location and take action if necessary.

No one likes to think about kidnappings, but if the worst happens, you’ll be glad you planned ahead. Nothing is more important than your child’s safety. The next time you smile at one of your child’s firsts, you can congratulate yourself on planning for his safety and your peace of mind by investing in a GPS tracking device.

Here is how it works and how you can put it to use in your business.

Monitor your business. Does your business rely on time and location operations? Do you have a fleet of vehicles or assets that must be managed at a close level? If so then a GPS Tracking system is a must for your business operations. You can monitor on a ‘live’ or ‘passive’ level with the ability to gather data in support of your business activities.

Comply with contracts. In business where contractual obligations are the life blood of an operation, a GPS Tracking system can provide the information and details needed to form the basis for invoicing and compliance verification. The detail level is so great, that the information can also be used in situations where evidence is needed in the support of legal questions.

Watch employee actions. Company vehicles are a valuable asset that requires monitoring on a daily basis. Drivers also need to be monitored for safe and responsible driving activities. Imagine the level of control and adherence to company policies and procedures will be afforded to your business. When the time comes for employee performance reviews, this data can help substantiate raises and promotions.

Save on business insurance. When you implement a GPS Tracking system into your company, you will save on premiums on your assets. This directly affects your bottom line profitability. Plus, in the unfortunate event of a theft, the system can provide instantaneous details of location so that authorities can recover your asset sooner so that you can get back to work.

Appreciate added security. The sense of security and control provided by a GPS Tracking system is priceless. Making money is the prime directive for your business. Being distracted by having concerns about the location of assets and how they are being treated takes your focus off of the more important aspects of your business.

Make use of GPS vehicle tracking systems today and see how your profits take off and soar. In this climate of cutting back and making your business more efficient, you can no longer afford to be without one. You will never regret the day you implement these into your business – that is a fact.

When it comes to safety and responsibility on the roads, nothing compares to an investment of the principles that apply to safe and responsible driving. It is easy for fleet drivers to become lax overtime because driving is their job and the more miles driven makes them become less tuned in to the things that are important.

Are your drivers always safe?

That is why a GPS vehicle tracking system is a must for any fleet operations. There are many features and benefits to a fleet of vehicles that have been outfitted with these devices, but safety and responsibility are at the top of the list. Here is why this is true:

Heightens awareness. This is true not only when the driver is on the road, where they need to be the most aware of their surroundings and the things happening in front of them, but when they are on their own time as well. Paying attention to details is always a good choice in remaining focused on any task. Driving a vehicle, especially a large delivery truck or even semi, requires a constant focus. But there are always too many distractions.

Increases sense of belonging. When a driver is part of an organization that values safety and responsibility, they feel like a part of something bigger than just making deliveries every day. This is what motivates people to become heroes when they assist others who are involved in traumatic situations. In fact, the training that they receive often kicks in without them thinking about it.

Makes safety a part of the work process. By emphasizing safety, it becomes a part of their everyday routine. From making sure that their vehicle is operating correctly, to driving with added ownership of their actions at the wheel they are immersed in safety activities.

Underscores the effect of good decisions on the road. When drivers value safety and responsibility, they make better decisions on the road. Knowing that lives are at stake helps a great deal, also.

A GPS tracking device helps the driver realize that they are being monitored not only for business purposes, but to also make sure that rules of the road and all laws are being obeyed. This will help make sure that the incidents of moving violations are low while driving up customer satisfaction. Drivers will be more productive as well. This is a decision that you will not regret making for your business. Check out one of these systems today.

By James Neely

Running a service oriented business that depends on deadlines and punctuality; you cannot have a better tool to help you reach your customer goals than a GPS Tracking system. These come in a variety of sizes and options but all supply one purpose: to help run your business in a more efficient manner. Here is how it works:

GPS has significantly improved the overall operation of my business!

Arrival times. You can check arrival times of your service personnel and verify their compliance to appointments. If one is consistently late, you have the evidence to prove or disprove the infractions and you are able to handle the issue based on facts, not emotion. For your clients, arrival times can be verified and then included with invoices to confirm adherence to contract obligations.

In-transit tracking. Is there too much time being taken between stops? Are there any stops between calls that are unauthorized? How you handle these issues depends on your policies established in your performance guidelines. But proper enforcing of rules can help increase customer satisfaction, especially when a service pattern has been established with a client.

Time spent at locations. Does a service call or stop take too long? Are there mitigating circumstances that cause this or is it because of other employee issues? With a GPS Tracking system you have the facts to back up the length of time spent at customer locations.

Track efficiency. You can look at a complete day and see where your efficiencies are and where you need to focus more resources or effort. It could be that better scheduling will produce better results. Viewing routes and miles driving on a map helps you make determinations for setting coverage areas.

A GPS Tracking system will become the managing instrument that you use to make sure that your business runs smoothly and without major problems. Service personnel will appreciate the attention to their jobs and scheduling. There will be fewer disconnects between management and field personnel when one of these systems is implemented.

Put to use a GPS Tracking system in your business and watch your business run smoother and with more efficiency. Take a step back and imagine how much more you can accomplish by using the features that are available to you. As a business person in this day and age, you cannot be too careful about maximizing profits. Making money is about paying attention to details and a GPS tracking system performs that operation perfectly well. Try one today and you will not be sorry.

The trend toward creating a ‘green’ environment in which businesses and individuals strive to use less of the earth’s resources and be conservative in the ones that we do use is prevalent right now.

Go Green

The debates about the validity of some of the tenants of living or working with a ‘green’ mindset will wage on but it still is wise to get involved because it can help your company save money. That advantage alone is worth the effort. And if it helps with the environment at the same time, then, all the better.

A GPS Tracking system can help you ‘green up’ your fleet operations in this way:

Reduce fuel and maintenance costs. With the cost per vehicle estimated at about $1.50 per mile, you can see that this is an area that can use additional oversight in order to reduce those costs. Fuel and maintenance are based on the number of miles driven, but there is also another issue and that is the idling of engines during stops. Discussions wage as to how much fuel is wasted and pollution pumped into the air we breathe, but it is worth making the effort to shut down engines during deliveries, pickups and other stoppages.

Eliminates paper waste. Online reporting creates the ability to see and monitor activity. Reports can be generated which are then electronically transferred and distributed based on need. This keeps paper waste to a minimum. Print outs can be relegated only to billing needs and or verification needs in case of litigation or proof of performance questions.

Reduces excessive and unnecessary driving. By monitoring the routes and driving habits of fleet drivers, companies can make sure that as few miles as is necessary are driven which saves fuel and maintenance costs as mentioned above. Also, drivers can be monitored for unauthorized trips in company vehicles.

Sets geofencing borders. Keeping a fleet within ‘green’ borders established by service area helps reduce waste as well. Having the ability to re-route vehicles based on who is closest to a location further enforces the ‘green’ mentality.

Gains in environmental responsibility are achieved one step at a time. There are those who participate with no apparent effect from a positive standpoint at all. But the bigger picture must prevail; any and all conservative efforts are to be rewarded no matter how small or seeming insignificant. (GPS tracking) systems can be a major player in helping reach the goals for a ‘greener’ tomorrow – today.

By Greg Bartlett

Every year, millions of cars are stolen. Some are taken by teenagers looking for a joyride while others are stolen by professional thieves looking to strip down the car for all valuable parts. I recently purchased a car, and, like most automobile owners, I have no wish for my vehicle to be stolen. So it’s worth it to me to make sure that my car is protected.

There are some basic things I can do to help protect my vehicle, such as locking the doors, not leaving valuables in plain sight, and parking in a well-lit area. But there are other options available for further protection. For instance, I can use GPS systems to track my vehicle and to immobilize it if it is stolen.

GPS systems can help protect your vehicle from being demolished for parts if it is stolen. Police can use GPS devices to track and locate your vehicle, stopping the thieves from stripping down your car. Recently in Florida police apprehended two teenage girls who stole a car and a wallet. Because the vehicle had a GPS tracking device installed, the police were able to locate the car, pull it over, and arrest the car thieves. The car and wallet were then returned to the owner.

GPS systems which immobilize your vehicle can also be helpful. For instants, students in Canada recent developed a program so that if your car is stolen, you can text message a GPS device installed in the vehicle, letting it know that the car has been stolen. The car’s computers will then respond as if the car has overheated, forcing the driver to slow down and pull over quickly. The vehicle will then shut off and the GPS device will send its location to the owner, who can notify police. By forcing the car thief to slow down and stop before power is lost, the vehicle is protected from any accidents caused by sudden stops, and since the vehicle’s location is transmitted to the owner, the police can recover the vehicle and hopefully the capture the thief as well.

I can take basic measures to protect my car, but for even better protection, I can use a vehicle tracking system to ensure that if my vehicle is stolen, it can be tracked, immobilized, and recovered, ensuring that my property is protected and that my car will be available for me to use to transport me where I need to go.
